Dozens of applications have been flooding in from residents looking to rent new homes within the multi-million-pound redevelopment of The Green, in Hartlepool.
Phase two of the build is progressing quickly, which will see specialist residential developer, Placefirst, providing more than 80 quality, long-term one, two and three-bedroom rental homes for the Hartlepool market by late spring.
Managing director, David Smith-Milne, said: “We had a fantastic response to the launch of The Green last May, with the first release of homes being reserved within days. All the homes are now fully occupied and provide ‘best-in-class’ rental housing for the people of Hartlepool.
What is really exciting is that we’re already seeing people sign up to reserve properties being transformed as part of phase two. They’ve been able to watch their new home being created before their very eyes.
Turning rental houses into genuine, long-term homes is at the heart of Placefirst’s approach, which is why the firm is one of the very few landlords that allow pets.
David said: “An aspect of regular feedback we receive from our residents is how appreciative they are that we accept pets. As a dog owner myself, I would hate to think I wouldn’t be able to move into a beautiful new property because of my pet, so we wanted to make sure this wasn’t an issue for Placefirst residents.”
The Placefirst team has been working hard throughout the winter to ensure that the latest properties, a selection of two-bedroom homes for rent, are available ahead of schedule.
David said: “The reason so many people have been contacting us to reserve their property before the building work was finished, is thanks to our ability to tailor homes to meet the specific requirements of the people who are going to live in them.
As a Placefirst resident you can pick your own kitchens, colour schemes and if you have a special request we will do whatever we can to accommodate it. This kind of customisation is usually limited to home owners buying a new property, but we want our residents to see this as their home for many years to come, and personalising their new house is very much a part of that.
Phase two will see a series of structural alterations taking place within the properties, including restructuring walls to make the homes bigger, brighter and lighter. In some cases, extensions are being added at the rear to create large, open plan living downstairs, with spacious additional bedrooms upstairs.
